Winter protection for Derbyshire roads: salt, brine and the A617

This is the Transit on a local street — the picture of how Washy Luxe actually moves around Derbyshire. In January that van still goes out for valets and interiors. Washing more is only half true

Washing more in winter is good. Washing badly is not. A frozen jet wash, on grit, with a stiff brush, is how you put swirls into paint you then pay to correct in May. A contact-safe wash on a milder day, plus a protective layer applied in a clean bay, is the adult version. Winter Protection is that layer, done once, before the season — not a weekly miracle.

If the car already has a ceramic coating, winter is when you notice it. Water still beads in a Bolsover car park. Salt releases with less agitation. If the coating is old or was never applied, this package is the seasonal stand-in. I will tell you which you actually need. Reviews keep mentioning that I talk people out of the heavier job.
